The Garden

A mysterious wilderness outside of space and time where the seeds are given form and influence.
The garden is a virtual and conceptual installation that gives the collection a unique spatial dimensionâa proto-metaverseâestablishing a geography for exploration and co-relation.
Visualizations and other experiences will be built to manifest this virtual space, and one day we will walk the garden's spiral path.
A collection explorer featuring a map of the garden and the distribution of seeds within it is built into the seed artwork.
In brief, the garden is a vast, mysterious wilderness shaped somewhat like a crater or gravity well.
In the sky above, an ancient star shines monochrome light over the garden, giving it an unearthly, timeless ambiance on a 144 block cycle.
A moon also traces its own path over the garden, transiting the star every orbit on a 2016 block cycle, causing an eclipse within the garden.
The seeds are distributed in the garden in sequential plots, starting from the bottom center, and rising along a spiral path up to the crest of the garden's parabolic geography, like an immense natural amphitheater.
The further the plots are from the center, the larger and more wild they grow.
Despite first appearances, the garden itself is not devoid of color; its color-less natural light gives way to other environmental light sources such as fire, incandescence, electroluminescence, bioluminescence, or more mysterious phenomena.
In the garden, seeds that are set manifest in physical form as carved stone relics or ruins that exert a powerful influence over the ecosystems that surround them.
When an attuned traveler approaches the physical form for a seed with the same attunement, they resonate with it, revealing the biome's true vibrant colors to any in proximity.
If a seed hasn't been set, it appears as a portal of light that can transport travelers back to the spiral garden's central origin point.
So long as a seed is blank, its garden plot's ecosystem will be overtaken on either side by its nearest set neighbors.
You close your eyes. The world goes dark.
You open your eyes and find yourself suddenly at the center of an immense, lush, misty basin surrounded by a verdant garden vibrating with life.
An ancient star from before the invention of color shines its monochrome light over the trees carving silver chutes of light into the undergrowth.
A walking path traces a spiral through an endless chain of vibrant garden plots that dissolve in the distance into low-slung clouds.
You set out on this path, the garden plots growing larger and more wild as you continue. Some enwrap you in a restrained serenity, others with tangled overgrowth.
The path urges you up along the walls of the basin, ever-higher, never losing sight of the center below where your journey began.
As you travel through each new passage of the garden, you encounter mysterious stone ruins and relics adorned with ornate carvings that seem to draw in spirits you can sense peeking out at you from behind the trees.
After countless hours you peer up to what you can only imagine is the top of this unnatural wonder... but you cannot say for sure.
All you know is that the garden will be here forever.
Even when you're not here to remember it.
Even though it doesn't exist.
Anyone who wishes to build explorers, visualizers, games, or other experiences based on the garden is encouraged to do so!
SEEDS makes it easy to get started; they are designed specifically to be composable generative primitives to initialize or plug into anything and everything.
There are a number of seed inscriptions and other perks that have been reserved specifically to reward builders who contribute to the garden's realization.
The bedrock of the garden is that defines the garden path's spiral shape, and that determines each seed's location along that path.
The seeds themselves take form in the garden as stone relics and ruins, as determined by their seed number's natural attunement (a seed number's form can be seen in the inscription's ).
