"Number rules the universe" - Pythagoras
The SEEDS artwork is a visualizer for seed numbers.
Set a seed number to change the artwork's state, anytime, infinitely, forever.
The artwork itself is interactive, expanding the role of the artist to include the collector and viewer.
At the core of the artwork is a language expressed with numbers.
This language is abstract, its dialects many.
Seeds can convey emotion, information, or initialize external systems.
SEEDS presents more than just a static image; its use of other inscriptions to initialize its state gestures toward a new onchain primitive adapted to a future that will be defined by generative computation.
Each inscription in the collection is an eternal living canvas in a vast generative garden.

While the SEEDS artwork was crafted to produce visually appealing images, the work's true message is much deeper.
Blending knowledge from these diverse schools of thought provides a creative-but-structured way to interpret the various properties any number. Every number has a story to tell.
Wielding the primordial language of numbers can inspire and satisfy intellectual curiosity, offer a mechanism for self-reflection and divination, or encode the many dimensions of personality and predisposition.
Numbers can also be used to initialize or influence onchain and offchain generative systems, defining worlds, stories, characters, styles, and countless more computational processes.
In short, you can think of a number as the most fundamental expression of identity. SEEDS encourages all who encounter the work to engage with this deep and fundamental insight.
The 1/1 "genesis seed", aka seed 0, is the SEEDS source file; a complex, self-contained SVG with embedded logic and many hidden layers, carefully crafted to produce as many complementary and attractive compositions as possible.
The genesis seed was inscribed on this very special satoshi on January 8th, 2024, exactly 15 years after the satoshi was first mined into existence; a quiet celebration for the Crystal anniversary of a modest satoshi from the dawn of Bitcoin.
The SEEDS SVG source file is 142kB.
A seed inscription's seed number can be endlessly set and re-set by its owner, giving them direct control over their seed's appearance, forever.
The range of expression for a single seed inscription is virtually limitless, with 10šâļ different ways to configure each of the 10Âŗâ° possible seeds; a number of permutations so large that it is all but impossible to comprehend.
To attempt to put this number into perspective, take the number of stars in the observable universe, multiplied by the number of milliseconds since the beginning of the universe, and then multiply that by a trillion. More than that.
A virtually endless canvas for expression.
Each recursive seed inscription is roughly 130 bytes.
Seed inscriptions consist of a border 'frame' that contains the seed artwork. At the bottom of the frame is the seed number.
Within the frame, the many layers of the seed artwork are hidden, waiting to be revealed.

SEEDS was conceived by in 2023, and the artwork's source file was inscribed to the Bitcoin blockchain on January 8, 2024, the 15th birthday of the it is inscribed on.
The artwork's reveals the 'character' of numbers, surfacing insights from mathematics and number theory, physics, numerology, astrology, and other wisdom traditions.
The instructions for rendering are contained within the genesis seed, and can be rendered by updating the file's "data-seed" attribute.
The genesis seed was inscribed on , originating in Block #9 on January 8th, 2009 and sent from Satoshi Nakamoto to Hal Finney just days after Bitcoin's release.
It will be at a future date TBA.

The artwork has a native 3:4 aspect ratio, common for print and digital displays, however it is also adaptive and responsive, for any context.
The artwork is interactive, and its appearance can be manipulated in using mouse, keyboard, or the built-in graphical interface.
